In 2004 my husband Robert Hanan and I moved to the Whyanbeel Valley in Far North Queensland, adjacent to the world-heritage Daintree rainforest. A custom-built studio was added in 2008 which is where I paint and teach watercolour classes for several months of the year. I paint for the challenge and joy of it and to hopefully transfer my passion for the extraordinary creatures and life forms of the Daintree and Great Barrier Reef to others.
I was recently awarded a Regional Arts Development Grant from the Queensland Government and Cairns Regional Council for a solo exhibition “Painting Paradise” at the Karnak Playhouse Gallery Whyanbeel from 14 May to 6 June 2010.
My paintings are held in private collections in Australia, Singapore, the US and Jamaica. I also undertake commissions for portraits of pets.
